VGP – Foreign and trade ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum have gathered in Vladivostok, Russia on Wednesday for a two-day meeting.
Vietnamese FM Pham Binh Minh and Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang partook in the event.
Delegates will discuss food security, measures required to ensure effective response to emergency situations, the Doha trade talks under the umbrella of the World Trade Organization (WTO), as well as projects to develop multilateral trading.
Addressing the event, Russian FM Sergei Lavrov emphasized that his country hopes this year's APEC Summit would gain great successes in trade and investment liberation, regional economic integration, transport and logistics development, food security, and new technologies development.
The APEC Summit will officially take place on September 8-9.
The APEC forum was established in 1989, comprising 21 economies. APEC member countries account for 49% of the world’s population and for 55% of the global GDP./.
